09 Nov Perform Dropping Lab and Complete Lab Write-up
You will need to find an appropriate distances and measure the time it takes to for an object to fall those distances so that you be able to graph and calculate the acceleration of gravity "g"!!! You need measure the height and time as accurately as possible! Because the times of falling are so short, you will have to make a lot of trials AND a variety of heights up to as high (while safe) as possible!
- Complete an "experiment" in class with a group of four, or you can complete the experiment at home, collecting at least 20 times, to determine the acceleration of gravity.
- Determine good distances and measure the time that it takes to fall in as many trials as possible. Repeat as many times and as many heights increasing to the heighest possible.
- Record your results
- Graph your data and find the slope of your best fit line to calculate your acceleration.
- Write a half page Conclusion discussing what you did, why, how it worked out, how your calculationed your acceleration of gravity, are you confident in your answer and what you would do diffferently next time to make your result more reliable.
