Reread Yes, Lets Pay for Organs, by Charles Krauthammer, starting on Page 620 of Patterns–12, and “The Case for Mandatory Organ Donation, by Scott Carney, which begins on Page 614. (Note: These two articles DO NOT appear in Patterns–13 or Patterns–14, so if you have either of those editions of the book, please see the copies of that I’ve posted in the “Articles” folder in “Files.”)
Under Writing Workshop, on Page 618, address Topic #2 in a 6– to 7–paragraph essay (Working with Sources):
Would you support an “opt-out” organ donation policy in the United States? Referring to essays in this casebook, write an argumentative essay that takes a position on this issue. Be sure to document all material that you borrow from your sources, and include a Works Cited page. (See Chapter 18 for information on MLA documentation.)
Note: You must include at least one direct quote from each article in your essay with MLA in–text citations and, as indicated above, a Works Cited page at the end.
