Look at images of celebrities online, and consider the likely effects of these images on
teenagers. Choose four or five of these images, and then write an essay arguing that
such images help to encourage poor self-esteem, risky behavior, or eating disorders-
or, that the celebrities pictured serve as positive role models for young people.
Include descriptions of some of the images in your essay, and analyze the impact of their visual
elements as well as the effect of the words in the accompanying articles or captions.
(For this prompt, it would be best to choose a handful of images that each make a somewhat different positive or negative impact on teenagers, and dedicate a body paragraph to each one, arguing how the image has a positive/negative effect on teenagers.)
