Introduction
Write a review essay after completely reading The Crucible.

The essay should answer the following types of basic questions:

How well does the writing illustrate the religious and social ethos/environment of the time period it is depicting?
What type of faith is shown and what type of religious struggle/interaction is illustrated?
Is Christianity depicted in an explicit or implicit way and is there a point in doing it in that manner?
While this is a fictional writing, how does this writing help us understand the American religious experience? Or does it?
How should this writing be assessed by our contemporaries?
Is that different than if it is evaluated based on criteria contemporaneous with the author and/or the setting?
If you need help getting started, try searching for other reviews of fictional literature, especially those with a religious nature, to help point the way.

Instructions
Finish reading The Crucible in preparation if not already completed.
Begin writing the review essay on The Crucible remembering the questions provided above in the Introduction.
The review essay should be 2-3 double-spaced pages.
It should be formatted based on the SOR Manual of Style, including all proper citation guidelines, font, spacing, etc.
It should be submitted in .doc, .docx, or .rtf formats only.
