Your assignment:
- Choose a healthcare related topic to research that is known to have differing or changing opinions among the medical community (For example use of race in eGFR calculations) and can be looked at from multiple perspectives. You must research and evaluate the topic on your own utilizing various methods, including primary literature. This is not expected to be like a drug information question where there may be a single right answer, rather we expect that their may be no “correct” answer but rather strong and different opinions among various groups that is backed up by evidence based literature.
- This research and evaluation will result in a writing assignment that will discuss your findings and the multiple perspectives of the topic.
- Please provide a summary of known evidence from each perspective. Articulate and explain your own perspective. How is your position different from the positions of others and why might some other people disagree with your perspective? How do SDOH and associated identity influence the perspectives you present?
- The writing assignment must be 2-3 pages
