Paper Outline and Paper Review

The paper review consists of a 2500-words essay, on a political science topic covered in this course. For a list of topics, look at the titles of chapters and readings. (You will notice that we do not cover international relations or comparative governments.)

Your paper will be based on four academic articles, each of them published in a political science journal. For list of political science journals, see here. Make sure they are full articles, not book reviews or short comments.

You can search by journal or by topic on Novanet (search engine of St.FX library)

Your paper must include, in addition to your name and ID number, a title, an introduction, the main part, and a conclusion.

Prior to submitting your paper (no later than November 26), you must submit a Paper Outline (no later than November 7), which consists of a title, a summary of 250 words of what you plan to write about, as well as an annotated bibliography of your four articles. Annotated bibliography means you indicates in a few sentences how these articles are relevant. You should be able to fit your outline in about one page.

For your written assignments, follow the department’s basic guidelines for intext citations and bibliography. You may also consult the University’s Regulations on Plagiarism, Cheating and Academic dishonesty.
