Watch the video by Maryam Shakiba, discussed in the  in your Cougarview Chapter 6 contents. Write three paragraphs (about 400 words) that engage with the following topics on the connection between the music and dancing of this example of the Odissi.

In Paragraph 1:

• Describe at least two of the sounds you hear. Include some description of what you hear as melody, rhythm, or timbre for each of those sounds (you don’t have to list all three elements for the sounds; some sounds are one or the other).
• If you can, name the instruments making those sounds.

In Paragraph 2:

• Give two examples of a point of connection between the dancing and the music. Describe how the dancer’s movements or postures link to specific sounds or gestures in the music. It is okay to include a time cue if you want to draw my attention to a very specific moment, but you can also be more general.

In Paragraph 3:

• Note one thing that stood out to you about the dancer or the dancing and describe what made it vivid for you.
• Note one thing about the music that caught your attention and describe what made it stand out for you. Yes, I’m interested in your reactions and reflections to what you heard and saw!
