Now that you have developed your own argument about how you would have an actorinterpret a particular Shakespearean speech to an audience, youre going to analyze otherscholars interpretations of Shakespeares texts as part of your research toward your final essay.This assignment has two goals: 1) to encourage you to analyze other critical responses toShakespeares plays, as part of your own research for your research essay, and 2) to encourageyou to utilize the NIU library resources.
You must find at least three scholarly secondary resources related to a topic of interest foryour research essay for this course. Appropriate resources include scholarly books, articles fromacademic journals, and articles from scholarly collections on a particular topic. You will createan annotated bibliography for these three (or more) works. NOTE: You must refer to at leastfive scholarly secondary resources in your final essay.First, provide the citation information for each source, using MLA or Chicago guidelines.Then, respond to each article/book in the following fashion:1. identify and describe the authors thesis;2. explain at least two of the authors supporting points/examples;3. discuss at least one of the articles stylistic strengths;4. discuss at least one of the articles stylistic weaknesses;5. discuss whether or not you find
the article persuasive and why.For each secondary work, you should write 150-250 words (for a total of 450-750 wordstotal, in addition to the citations).
