YOUR TASK FOR THIS WEEK:
Using the textbook and unit resources as initial forms of research, you will be conducting some research on your own this week to match a specific hotel to two of the specialized markets in the textbook.
First Step: Choose TWO of the hotels listed below (check out their websites and surrounding activities and landmarks!)

6. Holiday Inn and Suites, Albany, NY
7. Courtyard Marriott, Syracuse Amory Square, NY
8. Otesaga Resort, Cooperstown, NY
9. Inn on Broadway, Rochester, NY
10. Ritz Carlton, Coconut Grove, Miami, FL
11. Ritz Carlton, Batchelor Gulch, Avon, CO
12. Beachwoods Diamond Resort, Nags Head, NC
13. Pike’s Waterfront Lodge, Fairbanks, Alaska
14. Best Western Plus/Stadium Inn, Bronx, NY
15. The Cloister, Sea Island, GA
16. Hampton Inn, Oneonta, NY
17. Fairfield Inn and Suites, Albany, NY
18. Crowne Plaza Downtown, Seattle, WA
Second Step: Once you’ve chosen two different hotels, then determine at least one potential specialized market (from those described in the textbook or listed above ) for EACH of the hotels (be sure to read or research details about these specialized markets to be sure they are a good fit for your chosen hotels).
In the forum board, share:
- The two hotels you chose to focus on, and next to or underneath each hotel, list the one potential specialized market you believe would be a good fit for the hotel and include WHY you believe that (please be specific and back up your answer by including facts from a hotel website)
- Lastly, please share which of the specialized markets you were not aware of prior to reading this chapter AND share what you may have learned or found interesting in this week’s chapter or resources. You can label this answer Part II or Impact Statement.
IMPORTANT: Please be sure to use proper APA citations in the body of your work to show your sources of research and list your sources in proper APA format at the end of your post. As mentioned in last week’s Recap & Look Ahead email, Additional points will be deducted from this point forward for improper or lack of citations in the body of your post! Multiple resources have been provided and ample time has been provided for students to learn how to properly use APA citations.
