Choose a historical, social or cultural occurrence that happened during your lifetime and

holds significant meaning to you. This can be something that you personally experienced or

not, as long as you can describe in great detail why it matters. Find at least two secondary

sources that report or reflect upon the event or situation you chose. You may choose to

include additional secondary or primary sources to help round out your paper.

In an essay of 1250-1500 words (around 5-6 pages) complete the following:

 Analyze how the event is articulated and portrayed in each source,

 Explain how and why it matters to you personally,

 And compare and contrast how the sources cover the occurrence with your

interpretation and/or reaction of/to it.
