09 Nov health ethics
Students will individually write an op-ed style essay on a topic of importance in the field of healthcare ethics. Bioethicists often disseminate their ideas widely to the public by writing op-eds for newspapers, magazines, and other media outlets. Based upon the principles of bioethics and the specific topics covered in the course readings, students will choose a newsworthy subject, write a brief pitch, and compose a full-length op-ed piece, demonstrating reasoned arguments and evidence to support their position. Bonus points for submitting your op-ed to newspaper, magazine, or online media site.
A quick google search will yield many examples of other Op-Ed style essays.
