This research assignment requires each student to research issues surrounding whether to castrate or not castrate a convicted rapist who has demonstrated his intent to continue this behavior upon his release from prison.
Research and define castration from an historical perspective, identify a specific case whereby castration was imposed by the Court, again, carefully research this troubling issue from an historical and current perspective. Outline the formal criminal charges, the criminal sentence and, finally, express your personal views on whether you would support or condone this form of punishment. Would you castrate or not castrate, why or why not?
As such, define castration, its purpose, procedure, success/failure rate and any other methods or insightful information your research has disclosed.
