Scripture Meditation
Psalm 46:10
Use of scripture for meditation and reflection is a powerful resource for self-care. Watch a short video by Jackie Trottmann on How Meditation Will Bless You in Your Christian Faith (2:43).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPDo68CRjNw
One of the best verses to use is Psalm 46:10. To experience the power of meditation using this short but powerful verse, go to a quiet place and turn of any distractions like a TV or phone. Next, slowly read the following parts of the verse out loud and then pause at the end for reflection (Selah).
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.
Consider this:
What did you experience in terms of thoughts and/or feelings through this time of scripture meditation?
Was there a particular phrase or word that resonated in your spirit?
How can you use scripture meditation as a resource for self-care?
For further reflection, learn about the prayer labyrinth and see if there are any labyrinths located near you. A labyrinth may be a venue for a personal spiritual retreat and a resource for scripture meditation.
