Develop a risk assessment checklist (not exceeding two pages) identifying the basic criteria used when assessing whether a client is harmful to themselves or others.

Generally, in practice you will use a pre-existing risk assessment. The purpose of this assignment is for you to become familiar with the criteria involved in assessing a client for risk to themselves and others.

Note: TIP No. 42 has a guide you can use (Safety Screening in Mental Health Settings) in Chapter 4. Be sure that your Risk Assessment Checklist includes questions related to both mental health and substance use.

APA style is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.
