The SAMHSA resource contains an appendix of several Screening and Assessment Instruments (Please see: Exhibits 31. through 4.15). Choose an instrument that would be a good fit for assessing substance use and/or co-occurring disorders in your practicum site. Then respond to the following questions:

1. Why is this a good fit for the population you work with? (You will likely need to conduct research to help support your answer).
2. Do you feel like you have sufficient training to administer this screening tool?
3. Does this tool help with assessment of both substance use and mental health disorders? If not, how can you ensure you are assessing for both while using this tool? (You may want to refer to information from the course readings to help with this part of your response)
4.  Do you have any concerns about the use of this tool for the purpose of assessment or diagnosis?
