Paragraph 1

Describe a realization, discovery or new understanding about art that you have had during this class so far.

What was it about? An art form? A particular artwork or artist? An art concept?

Be very specific! Cite which presentation/chapter.

Paragraph 2

Research/explain further, provide details.

Refer ONLY to the class presentations and/or the ARTFORMS textbook chapter. DO NOT do additional online research 

Provide at least three corresponding facts about what you are describing (as in definitions, artist's name, titles of works, mediums used, dates, explanation of concepts, etc).

You can paraphrase or quote from the PowerPoints or the ARTFORMS textbook, as long as you cite the source. If you use more than a few words from a sentence from either source, include an in-text citation when you or quote from another source as follows:

MLA in-text citation style uses the author's last name and the page number from which the quotation is taken, for example: (Frank 163). If the source does not use page numbers, do not include a number in the parenthetical citation: (Tome).

For the PowerPoints use (Tome). For the textbook use (Frank pg #)

Paragraph 3

WHY was this an “Aha moment” for you? 

Describe your preconceptions/knowledge/thoughts BEFORE the moment of new understanding/learning.

Explain how your knowledge expanded or your mind changed with this new information.

Conclude with why this Aha moment will affect how you think about art from now on.
