Research Project (Step 3) Ethics and Impact
This assignment requires you to consider the ethical implications and contextual factors of your plan. In your ethical considerations, you will address each of the ethical principles outlined in the Belmont Report. See below for details. [MO 3.1, MO 3.2, MO 3.3]
Instructions
First, consider contextual factors of your plan. Contextual factors are characteristics of the environment that may influence behavior. The environment can either facilitate or discourage peoples’ behavior. Are there environmental factors that you will need to take into consideration?
Next, consider the ethical considerations of your plan. Address each of the ethical principles outlined in the Belmont Report as it applies to the protection of participants in your study. The three basic ethical principles for conducting research that involves human subjects are summarized in the report and it also describes how these principles apply to the conduct of research:
Beneficence
Autonomy/respect for persons
Justice
