Consider the following scenario.

As Director of the Health Information Management Department at your facility, you are part of a committee that is developing a strategic plan for managing the healthcare information systems that are being used by your facility. Research the Internet for articles and other resources on strategic planning for Health Information Systems. Compose a one-page memo addressed to the Committee which summarizes the findings from your research.

Your memo at a minimum must contain the following:

The rationale for developing a plan for strategic and tactical planning for health information systems.

A minimum of five “best practices” for developing strategic and tactical planning.

A recommendation and description of one tool that can be used in the strategic planning process (i.e. SWOT analysis, Environmental Scan, etc.)

Your memo should be professionally written and in the appropriate tone for your audience.

Assignment Requirements

• Please complete all parts in a Microsoft Word document.
• The body of your document should be at least 500 words in length.
• Quoting should be less than 10% of the entire paper. Paraphrasing is necessary.

Students must cite and reference at least 3 credible sources from your internet research
