For inhaler review package insert with pa7ent, use demonstra7on, and return demonstra7on.

Use as prescribed, avoid smoking, limit caffeine products such as chocolate, coffee, and tea.

Store in light resistant container.

Advice pa7ent not to exceed prescribed dosage. Instruct pa7ent to no7fy HCP if there is an increase in the frequency and intensity of asthma exacerba7on.

Beta agonist can cause severe hypotension and tachycardia, it is important to check BP and HR prior to

administra7on

Muscle cramps, cough, insomnia, palpita7on, agnia, tremors, blurred vision

Adverse Effects/Toxic Effects

Tachycardia, Angina, Tremors Post Administra7on /Nursing interven7on

Therapeu7c response: absences of dyspnea, wheezing aTer 1 hour, improved air exchange, long term control

of asthma

Contraindica7ons / Drug to Drug interac7ons/Food Interac7ons

Contraindica7ons: Tachydysrhythmia, heart disease, hypotension, diabetes

Drug to drug interac7ons: use of beta adrenergic blocker can nega7ve effect of medica7on
