However, access to those doors can be restricted based on issues of identity. Racial minorities, individuals from low-income households, and people with disabilities have often faced barriers to education. Even if they can obtain financial aid, discrimination against minorities (people of color, women, people with disabilities, or LGBTQ individuals) often surfaces in the job market and workplace as well, making it a challenge for graduates to pay off student loans because they cannot find well-paying jobs. Given your position as a student, research the pros and cons of lowering/eliminating the cost of tuition and use your findings as the basis of an essay in which you make an argument in favor of or against such a measure with a specific focus on how the measure might impact a minority group such as people of color or people with disabilities.
