For your final essay, focus on a particular aspect that you can illustrate with primary sources from both module 4 and module 5. Use at least 4 primary sources: 1 source from page 4.1 OR 4.2; 1 source from page 4.3 OR 4.4, 1 source from page 5.1 OR 5.2 ; 1 source from page 5.3 OR 5.4. The point of this is that I want your essay to address a wider range and not just summarize one of the content pages.
Option 1: How did the Christian, Islamic, and East Asian civilizations between 300 and 1500 interact with each other and integrate increasing numbers of regions and people? You might want to pay attention to the dynamics of usually of long-distance trade networks; universalizing religions; and new global empires.
Option 2: Which patterns, similarities and differences do you see in the different civilizations during the period from about 300 to 1500? You might want to pay attention to these civilizations’ approaches to rulership/government, social hierarchy, gender, science/learning, war/conflict or any other theme of your choice.
