The first student post: I completely agree that information systems are too important to be left to the computer specialists. According to Bradley, computer specialists install, maintain and repair computers. Information systems are at the center of everything in our world today, but computer specialist and their hardware/software are just the tip of that iceberg. Marketers, CEOs, CTOs, financial advisers, business owners, etc., all help to shape, transform, drive, and influence what information systems are used and how they are used. Just like any other field of work, there are specialists in each field. You wouldn’t leave a skilled car electrician to work on a residential electrician project. Although the basics might be the similar, each field of work has its differences. The same concept applies to information systems. Information systems specialists have the knowledge and experience to implement specifics. From my understanding, information system specialists turn raw unorganized data into meaningful information for people to understand. Computer specialists are geared more towards fixing technological issues.
