08 Aug The story of European empire and its fal
The story of European empire and its fall, is, in many ways, the story of nationalism. European empire was driven, in large part, by nationalist sentiment in the “Home Country” – frequently based on European conceptions of superiority to peoples in Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Nationalism also played a key role in the development of anti-imperial movements within overseas colonies and claimed a central role in independence movements prior to and after the Second World War. In a three to five page essay, examine the impact of nationalism, addressing both the justification for empire as well as the arguments for independence in two of the following colonies:
Indochina (Vietnam)
India
