Write a report describing your interview or watching the interview.

How to complete this assignment

1. Think about all the jobs in theatre. Which one interests you the most? Which job do you think you might like to do, or, at least, know about? Actor? Scenic Designer? Sound or special effects technician? You may choose any REAL theatre job you find.

2. DO SOME RESEARCH. GO ONLINE, GET IN TOUCH WITH A COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY, PROFESSIONAL OR SEMI-PROFESSIONAL THEATRE COMPANY AND FIND THEE NAME OF A PERSON WHO DOES THE JOB THAT INTERESTS YOU. THIS CAN BE AN ONLINE INTERVIEW ALREADY DONE, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE NAME OF THE INDIVIDUAL, THEIR JOB, AND/OR WHICH THEATRE COMPANY OR UNIVERSITY/COLLEGE THEY WORK FOR.

3. Because of current COVID restrictions, this may not be possible.  Look online for an interview with a theatre professional that you are interested in.  Then use that interview and find the information to write the assignment.

4. Interview the person or watch the interview and use that interview to answer the following questions. Be sure to prepare questions about their job. For example: what they do, how they got into it, what kind of preparation was required for the job.  If you are watching the interview online, see what information they provide the interviewer and use it to complete the assignment.

5. Write a report describing your interview or watching the interview. Relate who you met, when and where your meeting took place, your reactions to the meeting and what you learned. What was most interesting about your encounter? It can be an informal report, but spelling and grammar still count.
