The Framework for Teaching (also described on page 7 of your text) is a set of criteria created by Charlotte Danielson and ETS (Educational Testing Service), which outlines the important responsibilities of teachers. After reading Chapter 1 and 2 and viewing the sites above, complete the following activity using the Framework for Teaching Assignment Template Download Framework for Teaching Assignment Template
1) Review the 4 domains of The Framework for Teaching
- Domain 1: Planning and Preparation
- Domain 2: Classroom Environment
- Domain 3: Instruction
- Domain 4: Professional Responsibilities
2) Select ONE key concept you would like to address from each domain (4 total)
3) For each of the key concepts selected:
- Describe (in 3-5 sentences or more), a strategy you would use during the stages of planning, implementing and/or assessing in order to demonstrate competency and strong pedagogical knowledge for that concept.
- Using the concepts from Chapter 2, describe (in 3-5 sentences or more) an additional strategy you would use to meet the needs of an English Language Learner AND the specified diverse student.
4) Review page xvi in the Standards section of your textbook. Identify three (out of the 10 listed) of the InTASC Core Teaching Standards that your strategies address.
