12 Aug Analysis of the role myths played in their cultures
Hello, would you also be interested in this? Please select at least two (2) myths of your choice from two different cultures and explain what role myth plays in each of those cultures. You will explain how the stories demonstrate what role these stories held in their cultures when they were actively told. Some examples include worship, big questions about human nature, recordkeeping, relationships, religious ritual, seasonal value and connection to one’s environment, behavioral expectations, coming of age, origins of things, etc., in their respective societies. For example, the ancient Greek story of Demeter and Persephone (Ch. 29) captured one of the most well-known secret religious rites, The Eleusinian Mysteries in Eleusis, Greece. Think back on the different ways we have investigated how, in their ancient time, events, forces, and people were interrelated with their stories. You will find two stories to discuss that show the role myths played in their cultures at that time. Please note: The analysis should not focus on how we relate to these stories today.
