Project Management Plan
The project plan is the integration of all of the project management knowledge areas needed to meet the scope and to define the project schedule and budget. The project management plan serves as the guiding document for meeting project objectives and goals. According to the Project Management Institute (2008), the project management plan integrates and consolidates all of the subsidiary management plans and baselines from the planning process. Some outputs from the plan include the following:
- The life cycle and processes for the project selected
- Level of implementation of each selected process
- Descriptions of the tools and techniques for accomplishing objectives
- How work will be executed, monitored, and controlled
- How change and configuration management will be maintained
- Need and techniques for communicating with stakeholders
