Students form visual pictures of information and process information more intensely, which improves recall. This assignment will challenge students to select graphic organizers appropriate for use in an early childhood setting, delineating how selected graphic organizer would be implemented and why.
Directions:
- Analyze graphic organizers from the below-noted sites or a site of choice:
- Select one graphic organizer that you find appropriate to use in a cooperative group setting in an early childhood classroom (nothing higher than 3rd grade).
Use Youtube (Links to an external site.) to videotape yourself doing the following (make sure to provide the link):
- Introduce the graphic organizer you selected (.5 point)
- Show us a picture of the graphic organizer, provide the graphic organizer’s name and tell what it is generally used for
- Explain why you selected that graphic organizer and how it is appropriate for use in an early childhood classroom (.5 point)
- Provide a brief summary on how you would use it in a cooperative group setting:
- What subject/topic would you implement the graphic organizer in?(1 points)
- How would you have students work with the graphic organizer in cooperative groups? (2 points)
