Discuss 2 Interacting With Diverse Populations
Despite the perception that there is a clash of cultures—as represented in the media, proclaimed by politicians, or discussed on social media—you may encounter diverse but integrated cultures more regularly than you realize. In the military, different cultures integrate into a unique military culture, just as diverse cultures integrate into the unique culture of your town or city. In this Discussion, you use a similar understanding to predict how different cultures might integrate into a military social work setting.
By Day 3
Post:
• Describe an interaction in a social work setting with a client who is from a different culture than you.
o The interaction may be one that you have had or that you have read about.
• Identify characteristics about the client’s culture that you predict may be influenced by or changed within military culture.
