Social control makes people live within the rules of society and not commit crime. Travis Hirschi-Social Bond Theory is an effort to explain what makes people comply and not get involved in criminal activity. He posited four social bonds: attachment, commitment, involvement, and belief. Explain how these bonds help people comply with the rules of society. Discuss how we can strengthen an individual’s weak social bonds in an effort to reduce criminality.
