1) How did the rising inflation in 2022-2023 affect monetary policy in advanced economies? In particular, how did central banks in the USA, Euro Area and the United Kingdom react to rising inflation so far?
2) How did this affect the market interest rates, such as deposit interest rates, lending interest rates and yield curves for treasury securities?
3) How do you think higher interest rates due to monetary policy tightening will affect the financial performance of banks? In particular, do you think the traditional banks, which mainly experienced low profits in the aftermath of Global Financial Crises, would benefit from a higher interest rate environment? Why or Why not?
