and then do your own research to find out the general characteristics of invasive plants.
2. Choose one species from the attached PDF file in the Canvas menu link below this link.
3. Write an engaging interpretive park ranger talk (as if a park ranger were giving it to the public- this should be conversational and NOT like a written report) of at least 500 words that includes ALL of the following information:
a) what general characteristics invasive plants possess; list at least 5 (this is in general and not just about your species) (30pts)
b) what economic/ ecological problems they cause in the Florida landscape; list at least 5 (this is in general and not just about your species) (30pts)
c) A description of the species you picked with respect to:
• where it grows in Florida and in what kind of habitat (10pts)
• what country it was introduced from (2pt)
• what specific environmental problems it causes (12pts)
• what is being done by state and national agencies to control/manage it (10pts)
d) list at least 5 references at end of your entry (2pt)
e) engaging tone used that sounds like ranger having a conversation with an audience (4pts)
