Thomas Nagel argues that life is absurd. What does it mean to say that life is absurd? Talk about three possible explanations of life’s absurdity that Nagel discusses and rejects as inadequate. Take care to explain why each is inadequate, according to Nagel. Then, address Nagel’s argument for the absurdity of life: what is it? Do you agree with the argument? If so, answer an objection an opponent of the view might raise against it. If you disagree with the argument, lodge an objection and explain why Nagel’s account cannot accommodate it.
