Read “Finding Your Way In: Invention as Inquiry Based Learning in First Year Writing.” Of the invention strategies in this chapter, which do you think will be most helpful for you as you transition into writing in higher education? Why? Are there ideas you have for invention in writing that are not in this chapter that you would like to add? What are they (describe them) and how do you think they could help other students? Your response must be at least 250 words.
Read “Taking Flight: Connecting Inner and Outer Realities during Intervention.” What emotions do you experience when you begin to write? On a scale of 1-10, how much anxiety do you tend to have about writing? What aspects of writing concern you the most? What additional strategies can you think of that might help to lessen or redirect nervous energy? Your response must be at least 250 words.
