• What is early childhood assessment?*
• Why is early childhood assessment important?*
• What about a child is assessed?*
• Discuss child screening versus assessment.
• Describe how parents can be involved in the early childhood assessment process.
o Share time for parents to discuss their child’s growth and development.
o Describe how parents can learn more about what their child is learning.
o Share your program’s philosophy about child assessment.
o Share what your state is doing around early childhood assessment (Universal Pre-K).
• Describe how teachers or caregivers know if a child is learning and developing like they should.
• Explain the ways teachers or caregivers measure the children’s growth and development.
• How are children’s learning and development shared with their parents?
• How are parents involved in assessing their children’s learning and development (e.g., Are parents interviewed; Are checklists sent, etc.?)?
• This assignment must be at least slides long (not including title and reference pages).
