1. Explain if Schedule F executive order is a good idea and explain why/why not in your own words; and
2. Assuming that each federal agency head decides to implement Schedule F principals of restructuring their agency workforce (making vast amounts of agency workers as political at-will employees), would such a radical change in the federal agency workforce be ethical under Ethical Egoism? Explain the theory and how it works, then apply it to this situation.
Schedule “F” Government Administrative Agency Employees
President Trump, during his last few months in office on October 21, 2000, signed an executive order known as “Schedule F”, the order laid out sweeping plans to strip about of 50,000 federal public servants working within federal administrative agencies of civil service protections and convert them into easily fire-able political appointees. Then, Biden came into office and rescinded that executive order. Now, Trump is President again, and he reinstated “Schedule F” by executive order in January 2025. Here is the order:
