In your Discussion this week, you evaluated ways in which companies adapt their business models for global expansion. For this assignment, you will identify a new target market and mode of entry that extends the company’s international expansion. The new target market can be in a country in which the company already operates or you could identify a new target market in a new country. The mode of entry can reflect its current operations or a new mode that suits the new market.
Submit a briefing paper that uses the Market Participation approach described in Figure 5.1 of Chapter 5 of the course text to assess the attractiveness of the new target market and suggest a mode of entry. Your briefing paper should include:
A description and analysis of the new target market you identified in terms of market/segment choice, customer relationships, and distribution/service
An analysis of how the new market fits with the company’s global business plan
An explanation of the decisions that accompany the expansion, such as timing of entry, communications, and distribution
An analysis of the options, including volume, technology, competition, mode of entry, localization, and so forth
An analysis of at least two possible risks and at least two of the potential benefits that the company should consider when deciding whether or not to pursue the expansion
Your recommendation for pursuing or not pursuing the target market with your rationale
