07 Jul Research Analysis and Argument (Art)
For Paper #4, please respond to ONE of the below prompts. This paper is a research-based analysis and argument. As such, it should offer a supported analysis that operates to persuade the reader of the validity and insight of your thesis/main point. As a research paper, you must include relevant and credible information from a minimum of 3 secondary sources. These must be effectively incorporated into the body of your text, and you must include necessary and appropriate source information (in-text citations, according to MLA guidelines).
Define Art. What makes something a piece of art? Demonstrate and explain why three paintings, photographs, or sculptures meet your definition of Art. Feel free to use street art as one of your examples.
What is the relationship between gender and art? Many of the most famous paintings, photographs, and sculptures are of nude women. How has art altered how men and women see the human body?
In what way is how we see the world affected by what we believe or what we know? How does our background, our beliefs, our interests, and our personality affect how we see art?
