07 Jul What negatives/positives arise from maintaining traditional gender roles in American families?
The thesis of this essay revolves around the traditional roles of an average american family (mother takes care of children, father is the breadwinner) and how this practice is dated and unhealthy for the modern world. Equality is becoming more prevalent in today’s society, and that means that men can be more involved in the caretaking of home and children, and women can explore more full time careers and such. This interchangable opportunity has really reflected our growing as a society. In different cultures, traditional gender roles are highly revered and are still practiced to this day, entailing something of value and/or success.
