Be sure that the headline of your email is formatted as follows: “FirstName LastName – Course Section – Research Paper Topic.” This will help instructors sort through emails. Final Research PaperECE-111: Society, Family, and DiversityYou will be required to complete a 5-7 paged research paper on a topic of your choice, so long asit pertains to issues or topics discussed at some point in class. All topics must be presented toand approved by the course instructor by the end of Unit 4 via EMAIL. The final paper will bedue at the completion of Unit 8.Some sample topics: Influences of poverty on learning LGBT families and children School and family partnerships Parent involvement in kindergarten classrooms Race, racism, privilege and schooling Gender roles in the schooling process Teen parenting and early childhood Students with disabilities and societal norms Guilt as a means of parent involvement Social norms and schooling Urbanization and the landscape of early childhood Sociology of education Cultural competence in schoolsThese are some sample topics. Keep in mind that you get to choose your topic, so picksomething that you find really interesting and, as a result of that, you want to continue exploringor digging through. As long as your topic is somewhat related to something we discussed (orwill discuss) at any point in class, then you should be fine. Just as a piece of help, the maintopics being discussed in class have to do with society (social norms, equity, the isms that exist,social mobility, etc.), family (family structures, family involvement, engagement, etc.), anddiversity (celebrating differences).
