07 Jul Journal – Summary of Qualifications
For your discussion post this week, you had to discuss what makes a good employee. Additionally, this week’s reading discussed word choice and economy, so it seems like an appropriate time to work on resumes. This is a chance to think about what makes a valuable candidate for a job, and how to best convey that information. The second journal this week has two pieces: writing a summary of qualifications from the list of attributes given, AND writing your own summary of qualifications for your resume that you’ll use in your portfolio.
1. In the word document below, you have a list of qualifications, and you need to make a clear and concise summary of qualifications paragraph. You can simply write it in the same document under the original if you like. Don’t just take the the bullet points out and make it a paragraph- think about paraphrasing some of the information and look at how to most clearly and concisely represent this individual.
2. Additionally (in the same document), you will write a summary of qualifications about yourself. This way I can give you some feedback on it before you complete your resume in the portfolio.
Please make sure to take a look at the sample resume and videos I have posted in the module for this week to help you out.
