Assume that you are reading an editorial article in the local newspaper on a topic that is important to you. The author takes a particularly strong position on the matter at hand.
In 2-3 paragraphs, come up with a contentious subject matter (that is to say, a topic where sincere, intelligent people often disagree with one another). Explain your points of view, and then write about what you find to be the strong arguments that support your position on the subject.
Label each of your own arguments by their type, as best as you can (authority, example, causation, definition, etc).
