Format: MLA Style

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:

1.      Which techniques doesthe creator of the comic strip use?

2.      How does the creatormake his/her point in the comic strip?

3.      What do we learn aboutthe characters and/or ourselves from this comic strip or political cartoon?

4.      If colors areavailable, what do they tell us about this comic or cartoon?

5.      What language is usedand how can that be interpreted?

6.      And importantly,which of the key terms from the topic lesson can you discussin your analysis? For example, how of elements of imagery, symbolism,metaphor, and/or irony help reveal the cartoon’s message?

7.    This essay shouldhave a well-defined introduction with a thesis statement, body, andconclusion.

8.      Underline your thesisstatement in the introductory paragraph.

9.      In essence, what aresome of the physical elements present in the cartoon1 – characters, text,colors, etc., along with figurative elements such as metaphor andsymbolism, that help to explain the cartoon’s message? It canbe helpful to focus on a single element in the cartoon in its own bodyparagraph (including the element in the topic sentence and in the thesis) anddescribe how it portrays the cartoon’s message before moving to the next cartoonfeature in a new paragraph.
