Your first Discussion Board will be focused on Using chapters 1 and 11 as well as the additional resource links as a reference and source of examples, answer the following questions with detail. Provide support for your arguments and elaborate on the connections to geography. Your required to read and reply to at least two other students with supportive/critical feedback before the deadline
1. Using the UN List of Global Issues Link, explore the site and decide: What do you believe is the most significant issue facing the world?
2. What do you believe is the greatest challenge to Globalization? Support your argument with examples of your chosen issue.
3. What role do non-state actors play in Globalization?
4. Describe at least 3 forms of Globalization mentioned on pages 9 through 11.
5. What factors contribute to the decline of sovereignty? Provide an example of conflict over sovereignty
6. What are arguments against Globalization? What countries are working to dis-connect from Globalization?
7. In regards to migration, What is a “push” factor (chapter 11) that would make you leave your current state? What is a “pull” factor that would make you leave your current state?
8. Using section 11.2, summarize types of migrants. How may the author classify those currently in debate known as DACA recipients or “Dreamers”?
9. Read the section 11.5: a. describe the history of immigrant policy in the U.S, b. what is the current state of immigration policy now similar to in the historic past? (use outside statistical sources for detail)
10. What immigration issues are Australia and France currently experiencing? Why?
