This assignment was made available last week as a courtesy so that students could begin generating topic ideas for the course Research Paper assignment. The actual research paper is a separate assignment.
IMPORTANT: This assignment is posted early so that students can begin to generate ideas about choosing a research paper topic.
Based on the research topics available, determine the topic of your research paper.
As topics are chosen by students, this list may be updated. If two or more students choose the same topic, I will use the thesis, date, and time of the assignment submission to help determine the approval of that topic. The alternate plan is either a coin flip or a sword fight on the banks of the Chattahoochee River near Fort Benning, Georgia.
After choosing the topic, compose a thesis.
After choosing a topic and composing a thesis, the assignment is to prepare a two-page document that reflects your research paper topic and thesis.
Follow that example.
Use your topic information to format and construct the RPTT assignment like the student example RPTT assignment. Provide only one source (citation) on the Works Cited page. The source must include the first and last name of the author and a full date (day, month, year). All sources in this course must be online, and I must have unfettered access to those sources. For additional information about sources, read Instructor Addendum to the Syllabus, a weekly review assignment.
After you submit the Research Paper Topic and Thesis assignment, I will work with each student on the topic and thesis. Do not begin in-depth research on your topic until I approve it.

I will return all assignments to you with a grade and my comments written directly on the assignment. If you do not read my comments on the graded assignments, you are missing half the class. Submit Daily Writing 2.1 NLT the due date.
