Self-managing teams are another type of team identified in Ch. 7. These teams are “empowered to take on duties that were traditionally performed by the manager”…and are sometimes called “self-directed work teams” (Uhl-Bien, Schermerhorn, & Osborn, 2014). Our textbook identifies a recommendation for the size of this type of team…what is the recommended size – and why?
