15 Aug Lucio Fontana – Spatialism: breaking through the two-dimensionality of the traditional picture plane
The intention of this work is to introduce Lucio Fontana, the Spatialism movement and provide fundamental knowledge and tools to understand both. I will explore Fontana’s experimental installations incorporating his use of light as a focal element, a new form of contemporary art and highlight the distinction he created in these works by occupying the space between painting and sculpture. I will also touch upon its influence on contemporary artist working with light as the foundation of their practice.
