Instructions:
Transporting goods, both inbound and outbound, is instrumental to a firms operation. Each mode of transportation has strengths and weaknesses in getting the goods where needed within an acceptable timeframe. In Module 3, we learned about the advantages and disadvantages of various transportation modes.
- Read the article titled Transportation Modes, Modal Competition and Modal Shift
- Identify each of the four major transportation modes and list their advantages and disadvantages.
- Be sure to include how a firms cost, lead time, and associated risks might be impacted by selecting the various transportation modes.
