Students may choose from two research topics:Topic A:Select a composer of ″Art Music,″ found in our textbook from the Medieval to 20th-century.Include the composer’s background, their upbringing, music background; a complete list of their compositions (may copy/paste from a website and include after the bibliography); the importance of some of their more important compositions; and background on the historic time periods of the composer’s life. Topic B:Select a compositional genre that has survived from the Baroque or Classical period and still exists today.The research should include the composers who first developed the genre and subsequent musical periods that the genre appeared; other composers who used the genre and that were instrumental in their time period promoting the genre; and a list of selected compositions representative of the genre found in each musical period up to today.
