atricia Benner’s nursing theory uses the Dreyfus model to describe the stages through which skill acquisition is attained. The five stages are: (1) novice, (2) advanced beginner, (3) competent, (4) proficient, and (5) expert. Reflect on these stages, and respond to the following directions and questions:
- Describe your progression through these stages to the point at which you believe you are at this time.
- Give examples of your nurse practice at each stage.
- At what point did you feel you mastered one stage and moved on to the next stage?
